Hip hop mogul Marion "Suge" Knight was arrested Wednesday in Los Angeles on a misdemeanor traffic violation and an outstanding warrant, according to USA Today.
Knight, 48, was taken into custody just after midnight near Beverly Hills and is being held at the Los Angeles County Jail on $20,000 bail, the newspaper added. The arrest marked at least the third time since 2010 Knight has been jailed.
In February 2012, he was arrested in Las Vegas after police stopped his black Bentley for making an unsafe lane change and found an ounce of marijuana in his black Bentley, according to USA Today. Roughly two years earlier he was again jailed in L.A. after police took him into custody for failing to appear in court on a traffic violation.
The former co-founder of Death Row Records, Knight rose to prominence after launching the label in 1991 and signing such artists as Snoop Doggy Dogg (now Snoop Lion),and Tupac Shakur.
Knight was on the scene in Las Vegas in 1996 when Shakur was shot and killed in a drive-by shooting. Shortly thereafter, he was sentenced to several years in prison for violating parole on assault and weapons convictions.
Executives at Death Row Records filed for bankruptcy in 1996.
