Philadelphia Eagles Rumors: Coach Chip Kelly Tabbed To Replace Steve Sarkisian At USC [VIDEO]

It could be a match made in USC football heaven. And Oregon football hell.

Coach Steve Sarkisian, whose Trojans were a 17.5-point favorite over Washington but lost 17-12 on Thursday night, finds himself on a much hotter seat as USC's head man.

Fortunately for the Trojans, Sarkisian's replacement already has been identified, although he's currently busy with his own underachieving situation in Philadelphia.

"You know it when you see it, USA Today Sports' Dan Wolken wrote. "And what you see at Southern California nearing the halfway point of the 2015 season is the failed regime of Steve Sarkisian and a program desperately in need of Chip Kelly."

Chip Kelly On Eagles Hot Seat After 0-2 Start

The Eagles are 1-3 this season after Kelly made wholesale changes on the team over the last two years. But he still has plenty of cache as a college coach.

"Although Kelly is struggling this year in Philadelphia, he's still a very big-name coach in college football," according to Pro Football Talk. "At Oregon, Kelly was widely regarded as one of the best coaches in college football, and if he decides he wants to go back to college football, he'll have plenty of suitors."

For Oregon, the possibility of Kelly going to their hated Pac-12 rival would be a nightmare.

For USC, the nightmare may be far from over.

"And while this loss doesn't mark the end of Sarkisian's time at USC, it marks a definitive point where people can start speculating about the end," SI.com reported. "And that will certainly include Eagles coach Chip Kelly. USC had strong interest in Kelly when it hired Sarkisian. Not even halfway through his second season, there's worry if "Seven-Win Sark" will even get there. Things can get a lot worse for USC (3-2) with upcoming games at Notre Dame, home against Utah and then at California. The barbarians haven't circled the gate, but they're huddling and game-planning."

"When asked if he's coaching for his job the rest of the way this season, Sarkisian said defiantly, 'Not at all.'"

Sarkisian also has that fall camp incident in which he went off on a drunken rant at a "Salute To Troy" event and had to be pulled off the stage by athletic director Pat Haden.

Unless both the Trojans and Eagles turn their fortunes around fast, Sarkisian could be looking for a new job, while Kelly looks for a U-Haul.
