Things To Know
--Kershaw allowed one run and eight hits against the Mets this season, including a complete-game three-hit shutout against them on July 23. Despite the Dodgers' ace being a southpaw, the Mets are keeping plenty of lefties in the lineup, including Curtis Granderson, Lucas Duda and Daniel Murphy, but will play Michael Cuddyer over rookie Michael Conforto.
--The Mets' lineup Kershaw faced that day in July is much different than the one he'll try to stifle Friday. Since that game, David Wright and Travis d'Arnaud have returned from injury, while Yoenis Cespedes was acquired to bolster the lineup.
--New York took four of seven meetings from Los Angeles in the regular season. The Dodgers have plenty of lefties in their lineup, and New York lacks a true left-handed specialist in its bullpen to get outs against Adrian Gonzalez, Andre Ethier and company in the late innings.
