Tom Brady Calls Johnny Manziel Turd? Patriots QB Talks Johnny Football, Tim Tebow, Concussions During CNBC Interview [VIDEO]

Tom Brady was interviewed by CNBC recently, and was asked questions on a variety of hot-button issues in the game of football, including Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel, lightning rod backup quarterback Tim Tebow, and the ongoing concern of concussions.

Tom Brady never used Manziel's name, but his interviewer did when asking Brady about his gaudiest on-field celebration.

"I get pretty emotional. I have a lot of respect for the teammates, for my teammates, for my organization, and certainly for other guys in the NFL. There's not a guy playing in the NFL who hasn't earned the right to be here, and who isn't supremely talented. He's probably been the best athlete in his high school class, in his elementary school class. So when you look across the ball you have respect for those guys, and you treat them with respect because football's a physical game. And as RKK [Patriots owner Robert Kraft, who also was on the set of the show] would say, if you're a turd, it's going to come back to you."

When the talk turned to Tebow, briefly Brady's teammate during training camp, he had nothing but high praise for the controversial backup. "He loves football. He loves to work hard. He's a great leader. I wish we could keep everybody, [but] that's not the reality of the NFL."

Kraft also spoke about Tebow, whom he was rooting for to make the squad. "He's an outstanding young man," Kraft said. "He's a winner and very special. We're just privileged to have the best quarterback in the history of the game. So [Brady] is not coming off the field for anyone."

Finally, Brady was asked about the issue of concussions in the NFL, in the wake of the league's massive settlement with thousands of players who sued the league for improperly informing them of the risks of playing football.

"It's a physical game. It does take a toll on you physically. You have to take it into your own hands as an athlete to understand what you're getting yourself into," Brady said.
