Dez Bryant might have bigger problems than his broken foot. The IRS is after the Cowboys’ star receiver for $79,000 in unpaid taxes from 2013, according to TMZ.
The IRS has filed for a federal tax lien on him in Dallas for $79,274.75 in income tax money he earned in 2013. Bryant, who signed a $70 million contract this offseason, made $1.8 million in 2013. Perhaps he needs to take a page out of Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski’s book on how to prepare for life after the NFL.
5 Fictional Characters With A Prayer Of Guarding Gronk
In June a report came out in which Gronkowski said he has not spent a single dime of his NFL earnings; he’s currently playing on a six-year, $54 million deal. Gronk told TheMMQB.com, "I live off my marketing money and haven't blown it on any big-money expensive cars, expensive jewelry or tattoos and still wear my favorite pair of jeans from high school… I don't hurt anyone (except Gord with the occasional kick to the groin), I don't do drugs, I don't drive drunk, I don't break the law… I'm ... just looking to have a fun time.”
Meanwhile, Bryant is not shy about flashing cash, based off his Instagram profile.
Cowboys Working Out Possible Dez Replacements
These days, it shouldn’t be tough for Bryant to make everything right with the tax men, but America’s Team needs him focused on healing his foot, not worrying about his money.
