Lamar Odom News: "Toxic" Says NBA GM, Career In League Likely Over [VIDEO]

At least one NBA GM finds beleaguered forward Lamar Odom "toxic" at this point and sees little chance of the former Sixth Man of The Year winner being able to rejuvenate his career, according to the SportingNews.com.

"Just going by what he is giving you on the court, he would have been a risk anyway, maybe someone you give a partial guarantee to just to see if he can turn things around," the unidentified team exec told the website. "But with the circus that's around him off the court now, no way. I think that's the end of Lamar Odom in the NBA. It's a shame."

Odom was arrested in California early Friday morning on DUI charges after police allegedly observed him driving too slowly on a freeway in nearby San Fernando Valley. While at the scene, he also failed several field sobriety tests, The Sporting News reported.

The 33-year-old veteran forward's arrest followed a torturous  week during which he was also allegedly reported missing and allegations of his longtime drug abuse emerged. Multiple media reports indicated this week that Odom has had a "hardcore" drug problem for as long as two years and even  entered a drug treatment center at some point last year, before abruptly bolting after just three weeks.

A free agent, Odom now finds himself a man without a team and seemingly with very few would-be takers. His old team, the Lakers, once expressed modest interest in having him back, but that was before all his troubles begin to publicly surface.

Just two years removed from his Sixth Man of The Year Award, Odom has struggled in his last two NBA stops. He averaged just 4 points on 40 percent shooting with the Clippers last season and in 2011 netted just 6.6 points on 35 percent shooting with the Dallas Mavs before being dropped before season's end.

The Sporting News reports Odom's reality TV star wife Khloe Kardarshian has largely stood by her husband but recently told him "he needs to get help or get out."
