As Kim Kardashian's less than three-month long husband, NBA veteran forward Kris Humphries knows a thing or two about trying to keep up with the Kardashians.
A source close to Humphries tells RadarOnline the Boston Celtics forward has been closely following all the Lamar Odom drama and the many stories of his alleged drug addiction and worries the Kardashian way of doing things may ultimately hamper any hopes he has returning to his old self.
Now a free agent, Odom finds himself a man without a team and without many prospective takers. Beyond all the sordid news of his addictions, Odom has also been in the news more of late for all the trouble reported to be part of his marriage to Khloe Kardashian than for anything he's accomplished on the basketball court since they wed nearly four years ago.
"Kris feels really bad for the guy and thinks the Kardashian public relations spin machine will have a negative effect on Lamar's career," a source close to Humphries told Radar. "Kris knows first-hand,as he was the victim of countless attacks by a tabloid website during his divorce from Kim. The same website has claimed Lamar was missing when he wasn't, and this is just the beginning. There should be a support group for the former husbands and boyfriends of the Kardashians."
Indeed, reports of Odom's allegedly wayward ways have become even more pronounced over the last several weeks. Multiple-news outlets recently reported he went went missing for more than three days and just last summer spent at least three weeks in a drug treatment facility before abruptly bolting.
According to Radar, Odom now believes the Kardashian family leaked negative stories about him, but he doesn't believe his wife had anything to do it.
The source told Radar Humphries "hopes that Lamar gets the help needs. Despite how openly hostile Khloe was to Kris during his marriage to Kim, he respects her for being the only genuine person person in the family."
The source later added "if Lamar and Khloe are going to work on their marriage, while dealing with a potential recovery, they need to get away from the reality cameras. It only creates more chaos and drama, which is the last thing either one of them need right now."
