Tim Tebow To Make Patriots Roster? No Snaps Week 3 Preseason, New England Patriots QB Confident

Tim Tebow is either the most confident man walking the planet, or blissfully unaware that his NFL career could be nearing its end.

Currently listed as the No. 3 quarterback on the New England Patriots' depth chart, Tebow was signed by the team because of his relationship with offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels. After a poor season with the Jets in which he wasn't trusted to throw much despite very obvious quarterback issues, it was abundantly clear that McDaniels simply has a soft spot for him.

After a bad showing in Week 1 in which he completed just four out of twelve passes and allowed himself to be sacked three times, he needed a bounceback performance in Week 2 to re-establish some faith in him.

He didn't do that. Instead, Tebow was an awful 1-for-7, managing to throw for negative yardage. In Week 3, which is widely considered a "dress rehearsal" of sorts in which teams look the most like their regular season selves, Tebow suited up but didn't sniff the field. With roster cuts looming, and Tom Brady entrenched as the starter with a quality backup in place named Ryan Mallett, things aren't looking so hot for Tebow.

Not that he's worried.

"There are going to be ups and downs," Tebow said. "That's what life is, and you just have to handle them as best you can." He also made mention of taking mental reps while watching from the sidelines. "You might not be on the field, but you can still get a rep."

When asked about not playing Tebow in Week 3, Belichick clammed up as is the norm. Belichick told reporters the reason for Tebow's absence on the field was "because we played two quarterbacks."

Despite all the discouraging signs, Tebow is staying upbeat and is committed to helping any way possible. "You just prepare, and what you're asked to do, you do 100 percent with everything you have," Tebow said.
