Aaron Hernandez Cousin, Tanya Singleton, Refuses To Cooperate With Police

Aaron Hernandez’s jailed cousin still refuses to cooperate with police in their ongoing probe of the former New England Patriots tight end, according to ESPN.

Tanya Singleton is due in superior court later today on contempt charges after authorities said she refused to take the stand before a Bristol County grand jury convened to investigate the former NFL star in connection with the execution-style slaying of semi-pro football player Odin Lloyd.

Police discovered Lloyd’s bullet-riddled body less than a mile from Hernandez’s North Attleborough mansion in late June and took Hernandez into custody a few days later. The 23-year-old NFL vet was formally indicted on first-degree murder charges earlier this week and remains jailed without bail and confined to solitary confinement at the Bristol County House of Corrections.

Hernandez is also being investigated in connection with an unsolved 2012 double murder in Boston and police theorize the Lloyd killing may have been motivated by his growing distrust of him and his knowledge of Hernandez’s alleged involvement in those drive-by killings.

Witnesses have told police Hernandez argued with the two male victims at a Boston nightclub hours before the slayings and investigators later recovered a rental car believed to be used in the crime and rented in Hernandez’s name was found hidden in the garage of one of his uncles.
