Steve Sarkisian Update: Coach Tried To Get Reimbursed For Bar Tab With 40 Tequila Shots [VIDEO]

USC football coach Steve Sarkisian says he mixed alcohol and medicine Saturday night, causing his inappropriate behavior at a school function, and will seek help.

Exactly what kind of help and how much help he needs are the bigger questions.

When Sarkisian was head coach at Washington, Sarkisian ran up a dinner and bar tab that included 40 shots of tequila and tried to get reimbursement for it from the school, Larry Brown Sports reported, using a tweet from ESPN radio affiliate host Danny O'Neil.

Multiple media outlets reported that Sarkisian on Saturday slurred his words and used profanity as he addressed a crowd of an estimated 2,500 people, which included his players, the coaching staff, past players, fans and donors at USC's Salute to Troy event.

Sarkisian spoke to reporters on Tuesday and denied that he has a drinking problem.

"No, I don't believe so, but through [athletic director Pat Haden] and through the university, I'm going to find that out. I'm going to go to treatment," Sarkisian said, according to ESPN.com.

USC boosters and alums are calling for the coach's resignation, TMZ Sports reported.

"Multiple high-ranking USC sources tell us ... ever since reports surfaced about the USC head football coach slurring and cussing at a major USC function Saturday night, the powers that be at SC have been getting complaints from the people who back the program," TMZ Sports reported.

"One high-ranking USC source tells us ... 'I've been getting a flurry of phone calls this morning from people who want him out. They feel he's an embarrassment to the program and the community.'"

Other than banning alcohol in the USC coaching offices and Sarkisian vowing not to drink alcohol during the 2015 season, no other punishment has been announced against the coach.

The Trojans were 9-4 in 2014 and are No. 8 in the 2015 Associated Press preseason poll.
