Today at 2:10 p.m., the New York Mets (56-66) take on the Minnesota Twins (54-68) in some matinee interleague action at Target Field in Minneapolis. The game can be live streamed here; Mets fans can listen to the game on 101.9 WFAN FM, while Twins fans can do the same by turning their dials to 96.3 K-TWIN.

The Mets are in Minnesota for just one day, and will need to recover from yesterday's heartbreaker in rapid fashion. Will Venable of the San Diego Padres beat the Mets with a walk-off home run off of relief pitcher Pedro Feliciano, devastating the Amazins. "That's baseball. We could have gotten this one, but we lost," Feliciano said. "We've just got to go out and be ready for tomorrow."

The Mets have Dillon Gee (8-8, 3.69 ERA) on the hill today against Minnesota, and he hopes to help the Mets improve to 10-4 in interleague play. In his last outing he tamed the red-hot Dodgers over six innings, giving up two runs and leaving with the lead before the bullpen blew it and dropped the game. "Sometimes, things happen like that," Gee said. "We're playing hard. Things just didn't turn out the way we wanted."

As for the Twins, they'll be sending youngster Kyle Gibson (2-3, 6.27 ERA) to the bump. His ERA does not suggest much hope, but he will likely need to pitch well today owing to the Twins' issues with runners in scoring position. On Sunday Minnesota was a putrid 2-for-18 with runners in scoring position, and lost 5-2.

"It's not a different mentality with that or anything," Twins second baseman Brian Dozier said. "You just have to bear down more and hopefully pitchers make mistakes in certain situations. It's something we've definitely got to get better at."

Gibson can start by lasting longer than six innings, which he has yet to do in this rookie season.
