Hulk Hogan, arguably the most famous wrestler of all-time and self-described "real American" wants a biopic made about his life, and supposedly he has the leading actor in mind-Chris Hemsworth.
"We need a serious, serious actor that knows what he's doing," Hogan said. "You know who I thought would be good? That guy that did that action movie, 'Thor.'"
Hogan, whose real name is Terry Bollea, has already read a four-page treatment of the film, according to reports, and is excited about moving forward with the project.
When speaking about his team of writers, Hogan said, "They've got wrestling in their blood. They were huge Hulk Hogan fans, so they followed not only the smoke and mirrors that you see on TV, but they followed personally what I was going through. The divorce, the car accident, all the drama, the eight back surgeries, the hip replacements, the knee replacements."
Hogan was WWE champion six times, and entered the Hall of Fame in 2005. He is best known for slamming Andre the Giant at WrestleMania, and bringing about the "Hulkamania" phenomenon, which engulfed the sports entertainment world for years. His widespread popularity eclipsed all the other wrestlers who shared the ring with him and landed him numerous acting roles, most notably an appearance in Rocky III.
He also was a part of the nWo, in World Championship Wrestling, which was a strong competitor against WWE for a time. The nWo, which stood for "New World Order," consisted of Hogan, Scott Hall, and Kevin Nash, and represented a challenge to WWE's brash "Attitude Era." The nWo propelled WCW ahead of the WWE for quite a while, cementing Hogan's legacy as a transformative persona in the industry.
After his wrestling career concluded Hogan went on to star on a reality television show called Hogan Knows Best, which spawned a spin-off for his daughter Brooke Hogan called Brooke Knows Best.
