Two teams chasing the 2015 Gold Cup will do battle today in a match between Panama and Mexico. The semifinal scheduled for 9 p.m. ET will be held at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta and can be live streamed here. Additional TV coverage can be found on Fox Sports 1.
What They're Saying
Panama head coach Hernan Dario Gomez (via Terra): "This is a serious tournament. In Panama we don't think about that, only enjoying it by playing well. Mexico created chances against Guatemala, they scored against Cuba, were winning 2-0 against Trinidad [and Tobago], scored a third and fourth goal and also [created chances] against Costa Rica. They're here because they deserve to be."
Mexico head coach Miguel Herrera (via CONCACAF): "That has been our main concern since the beginning of the tournament, to be effective up front. Unfortunately, we haven't been able to be as effective as we would want to. You have only a certain number of plays to win a game before you start suffering and you start thinking that if you give your opponent a break, you lose."
Tactical Preview
Player to Watch: Carlos Vela produced an unorthodox performance against Costa Rica in the quarterfinals. Unable to finish any of his chances, the 26-year-old will look to open his tournament account in Atlanta on Wednesday.
Panama's Projected Lineup (4-4-2): Penedo; Machado, Pimentel, Cummings, Torres; Gomez, Cooper, Camargo, Quintero; Tejeda, Perez
Mexico's Projected Lineup (5-3-2): Ochoa; Layun, Reyes, Rodriguez, Alanis, Aguilar; Guardado, Santos, Herrera; Vela, Peralta
