The Detroit Tigers (69-49) were one of the hottest teams in baseball before running into the New York Yankees and their center fielder Brett Gardner, who got walk-off hits twice against the Tigers to stifle their run. Now, they've dropped two straight to the Chicago White Sox (46-72), and will look to avoid a sweep at U.S. Cellular Field today at 2:10 p.m. The game can be live streamed here; White Sox fans can hear the game on WSCR 670, while Tigers fans can turn their dials to 97.1 The Ticket.

Even though the Tigers have cooled off Miguel Cabrera certainly hasn't. In the last seven days, Cabrera has hit .400 with four home runs and nine RBI. Two of those home runs came against the Yankees' immortal closer Mariano Rivera. He also homered off of White Sox ace Chris Sale.

Today, Cabrera will be John Danks' problem. Danks, (2-9, 4.52 ERA), has struggled all season, and hasn't posted an ERA of under 4.15 in any month this year. He is facing a loaded Detroit offense that leads the American League in runs per game (5.11), and on-base percentage (.346) and ranks fourth in home runs (138).

Rick Porcello (8-6, 4.32 ERA) toes the rubber for Detroit against the White Sox, who unlike the Tigers, have one of the American League's worst offenses.

Chicago is last in runs per game (3.69), third-worst in home runs (107), and second-to-last in on-base percentage (.302). They weakened that light-hitting batting order even more last week when they places dual-threat outfielder Alex Rios on waivers.

He was claimed by the Texas Rangers, and Chicago received a player to be named later in exchange for the former All-Star. At the time Chicago waived him, Rios was hitting .277 with 12 home runs, 55 RBI and 26 stolen bases. In four games with the Rangers, Rios has hit .333 with three runs scored.
