Brandon Marshall's career flight will come to an end with the New York Jets.
The wide receiver was fielding questions on Twitter on Thursday when he was asked when he plans to retire.
Marshall revealed that the Jets will be his final team and that he will retire once his role with Gang Green comes to an end and he told another fan, "After Jets, I'm done."
The Jets acquired Marshall from the Chicago Bears in March and restructured his contract. The receiver will make $26 million over the next three seasons. Beyond that, his career is in question.
Marshall is coming in off of his least productive season since being a rookie in 2006. Marshall had 61 catches for 721 yards and found the end zone eight times.
Marshall said as recently as May 2014 that he had no plans to hang up his cleats anytime soon.
"They're going to have to rip the jersey off of my back [for me to stop playing]," Marshall told the Carmen and Jurko Show, according to ESPN. "I've always said I want to play 14 years. That's always been my goal. But maybe [I'll play until I'm] 36 years old. Who knows?"
Marshall, 31, has been in the NFL for nine seasons and was brought in by the Jets in hopes that he can help embattled quarterback Geno Smith, who enters his third season in the league.
New York is looking for some improvement from Smith and brought in Marshall to be another weapon for him. Smith has more interceptions (34) than touchdowns (25) after his first two seasons as a pro.
Marshall has 773 regular-season receptions (32nd all time) for 9,771 yards and 65 touchdowns in nine seasons with the Denver Broncos, Miami Dolphins and Bears.
The Jets are coming into 2015-16 on the heels of a 4-12 finish last season, which saw the club bring in Todd Bowles as the new head coach and Mike Maccagnan as the general manager to replace Rex Ryan and John Idzik, respectively.
