Two nations chasing World Cup glory will do battle today in a match between Nigeria and the United States. The World Cup match scheduled for 8 p.m. ET will be held at BC Place in Vancouver and can be live streamed here free. Additional TV coverage can be found on FOX.
What They're Saying
Nigeria head coach Edwin Okon (via FIFA): "I congratulate the winners, Australia. We have to get back out and score goals. We must qualify. Nigeria must qualify to the next round, so we must get back to the form we had against Sweden."
USA head coach Jill Ellis (via FIFA): "It was like two heavyweights going at it [in our match against Sweden]. I thought both teams left it all on the field. I think Sweden had a good game plan. They were tough to break down. In the second half we were better, we had better possession and we took good things away from this. We're still in the driver's seat. We still have an opportunity to finish top."
Tactical Preview
Player to Watch: Abby Wambach has excuses for not scoring goals, but that hasn't kept Christen Press from making an impact on the score sheet. The 26-year-old scored a timely goal in the USA's 3-1 victory over Australia in the team's opening match and benefits from a more forward role atop the formation. In three appearances with the Chicago Red Stars, Press has four goals.
Nigeria's Projected Lineup (4-3-3): Dede; Ohale, Chukwunonye, Ebi, Ebere; Oshoala, Nwabuoku, Ayinde, Okobi; Ordega, Oparanozie
USA's Projected Lineup (4-4-2 Diamond): Solo; Klingenberg, Johnston, Sauerbrunn, Krieger; Brian, Rapinoe, Heath, Lloyd; Press, Rodriguez
