Josh Brent DUI: Bar That Served Former Dallas Cowboys Defensive Lineman Faces Scrutiny

Former Dallas Cowboys defensive lineman Josh Brent is awaiting trial, but the bar that served the 6-foot-2 320-pounder is currently facing scrutiny for serving an intoxicated Brent more alcohol just before he crashed his car and killed his teammate Jerry Brown.

The Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission is looking into a club in Dallas called Beamers Private Club and has found "sufficient evidence" that the club was selling alcohol people that were already intoxicated and encouraged its patrons to drink excessively.

Brent is awaiting trial on charges of intoxication manslaughter. Brent, who got behind the wheel drunk, was driving at a speed of at-least 110 miles-per-hour and may have been driving at a speed of 134 m.p.h. just before the crash. Police found Brent attempting to pull Brown from the car, and he later failed a sobriety test.

According to reports, the commission has said that Beamers was the last place Brent and Brown stopped before the crash. The night club won't have any action used against it until Brent's trial has ended. Brent may get up to 20 years in jail for the crime, and Beamers may get its alcohol license suspended or revoked, or at least face a hefty fine.

Brent, who played for the Cowboys since 2010 after the team drafted him in the seventh round, announced his retirement this past July 18 as he's set to focus on his off-the-field issues and is still awaiting trial.
