Two nations chasing World Cup glory will do battle today in a match between the United States and Sweden. The World Cup match scheduled for 8 p.m. ET will be held at Winnipeg Stadium in Winnipeg and can be live streamed here free. Additional TV coverage can be found on Fox.
What They're Saying
USA head coach Jill Ellis (via FIFA): "I don't think we played particularly well in the first half [against Australia], but I was pleased that we grew in the game. The fan support was phenomenal. Our players settled in in the second half, which was much better. That's something we can build upon."
Sweden head coach Pia Sundhage (via FIFA): "We're not happy that we gave up three goals [to Nigeria], however, at the end of the day we got one point and there's good things to bring to the next game. The game plan was different than what you saw. Again, we got one point and next time, when we play the States, I hope we will follow the game plan."
Tactical Preview
Player to Watch: Megan Rapinoe scored a timely brace and provided an assist in the United States' 3-1 victory over Australia; however, the 29-year-old was cautioned and faces the possibility of a one-match suspension should she be issued another yellow card. If the result is in hand late in the match, look for Rapinoe to commit a tactical foul and protect herself for the knockout rounds.
USA's Projected Lineup (4-4-2): Solo; Krieger, Johnston, Sauerbrunn, Klingenberg; Rapinoe, Lloyd, Holiday, Press; Leroux, Wambach
Sweden's Projected Lineup (4-4-2): Lindahl; Nilsson, Berglund, Fischer, Rubensson; Sjogran, Dahlkvist, Seger, Asllani; Jacobsson, Schelin
