Tom Brady To Play Past 50 Years Old? Patriots Quarterback Interview With Men's Health Reveals Desire For Long Career

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady tells Men’s Health Magazine he would “like to play until he’s 50.”

Appearing on the cover of the September issue of the magazine, Brady, 33, tells the writer “I would love it. If I think I can do it, then I probably will.”

Certainly Brady has showed little signs of slowing down anytime soon. The two-time Super Bowl MVP and three time champ completed 64 percent of his passes for 4,827 yards and 34 touchdowns last season.  The year before that, he threw for 5,235 yards and 39 scores.

With nearly an entirely new receiving corps, the Patriots are expected to need Brady to be at his best more than ever this season. Star receiver Wes Welker is now in Denver and tight end Rob Gronkowski may well start the season on injured reserve.

And then there is the case of once rising star Aaron Hernandez, released by the organization earlier this summer after he was charged with first-degree murder in connection with the shooting death of one-time associate Odin Lloyd. Hernandez remains jailed in without bail awaiting an August 22 probable cause hearing.

“We're getting there every day," Brady recently told reporters of familiarizing himself with a core of receivers now led by former St. Louis Rams vet Danny Amendola. "You'd like to say you've got a good grasp on things. You're still trying to get that consistency and get better every day. It's a work in progress.”
