Peyton Manning Breaks Legs? Hoax Revealed, Denver Broncos QB Healthy, Center Dan Koppen Out For Season With Torn ACL

Many Denver Broncos fans gasped in despair at news that quarterback Peyton Manning had broken both his legs in a car accident over the weekend, but those fans can exhale. Manning is fine, and the accident was just another internet hoax.

FakeAWish.com reported the following that created a stir:

"A spokesperson for the Denver highway safety authority (HSA) has confirmed that Peyton Manning has broken both of his legs in a traffic altercation. He has been transported via ambulance to a local Denver hospital for treatment, and the full extent of his injuries are not known at this time, however, both of his legs were visibly broken and not life threatening according to sources.

The accident involved a 2012 BMW driven by Peyton Manning and a 76 year old female driver in a 2010 Audi. The driver of the Audi was issued a citation for failing to stop at a red light before striking the vehicle driven by Peyton Manning at a high rate of speed."

All is well for the Broncos passer, though. His legs are well and his neck is okay too as he prepares for his second season in Denver. One Bronco who is not fine, however, is the man snapping the ball to Manning.

Broncos center Dan Koppen has been lost for the season, according to reports, after tearing his ACL in his left knee. He was carted off the field after sustaining the injury in 9-on-7 drills.

The center Koppen was replacing, J.D. Walton, broke his ankle in a Week 4 game against the Oakland Raiders last season. Walton suffered a setback this offseason and is still out of action, leaving the Broncos with a big hole at a key position.

For now Manning will work with practice squad snapper Manny Ramirez as the organization seeks replacements.
