Joe made his NXT debut when he interrupted the NXT Heavyweight Championship bout between his long-time rivals Sami Zayn and title-holder Kevin Owens. Joe's music hit and he got into a stare down with Owens, who eventually left the ring causing a no-contest.

WWE.com has posted video of Joe speaking to the crowd at NXT after the show went off the WWE Network and he talked about arriving in the promotion.

"So this is NXT?" Joe said. "You see, I've always made it a point to compete in the hottest promotions in the world and everywhere I looked and everyone who asked told me one thing, 'Joe if you wanna do what you wanna do, if you wanna be with the very best and the most hungry and the most vicious, violent and excellent pro wrestlers in the world, then you come to NXT.'"

Joe, who is a Ring of Honor alum and spent a decade in TNA before parting ways with the company earlier this year, said that he expects some solid competition in NXT.

"And if tonight is any indication of the competition I can expect, well rest assured Joe is happy and Joe is here," Joe said. "So consider this your warning, I am Samoa Joe. I am pro wrestling. And I am now here in NXT."

Joe also spoke to Renee Young after NXT Takeover: Unstoppable and said it felt good to be in NXT.

"I have to be honest with you, it felt right," Joe said. "It felt natural. It felt like I should have been here. And after being out there tonight, I know I should have been here all along."

Joe also touched on his personal history with Owens and Zayn and said he is coming for the NXT Championship.

"You see, I've fought all over the world and I've fought Kevin Owens and I've fought Sami Zayn," Joe said. "I mean we've brawled all over the Great White North. We've brawled across America. We've had our fair share of battles. And one thing I've always understood about Kevin is he's got a bit of an attitude problem. He likes to push things to the next level. He likes to be the big dog in charge. The head honcho, the man in the yard who everybody looks to when there's danger in the air. But you see that's all changed. I'm here now. And I know one thing for sure, Kevin Owens has never whipped my ass. And now that I'm here in NXT, I will guarantee you this: He never will while I'm here. So, Samoa Joe has arrived. I put the world on notice, and Kevin Owens, I'm coming for what you have."

Lastly, Joe took to Twitter to talk about his shocking debut:
