Carlos Hyde, Ohio State Running Back Cleared Of Assault Charge? Club Video Shows Hyde Never Hit Woman Claiming To Be Attacked

Ohio State Buckeyes senior running back Carlos Hyde has been in some hot water stemming from an assault charge he picked up after a fight in a bar over the weekend. New evidence has surfacedc, however, that may be enough to clear the sullied rusher's name.

Saturday, a woman claimed to have been hit by an unknown assailant at Sugar Bar 2, and said she would be able to visually identify her attacker. Hyde was named as a "person of interest," and earned an indefinite suspension from Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer.

Sources close to the investigation have tipped off Yahoo! that video exists of the incident, and shows the alleged victim speaking to Hyde before punching him in the head. Hyde is then seen leaving the area, while reaching back toward her in a "non-confrontational" manner, but never making contact.

The Columbus Police Department has declined comment, as has Sugar Bar 2 management, but it appears unlikely now that Hyde will face any charges.

At the time of Hyde's suspension, Meyer issued a statement saying, "I have a clear set of core values in place that members of this football program are constantly reminded of and are expected to honor. There are also expectations with regard to behavior. I expect our players to conduct themselves responsibly and appropriately and they will be held accountable for their actions."

2012 was Hyde's best season as a Buckeye. He carried the ball 185 times for 970 yards and 16 touchdowns.

Meyer has had a lot on his plate lately. In addition to Hyde's involvement in the Sugar Bar 2 incident, another player, All-Big Ten cornerback Bradley Roby, was arrested on Sunday for refusing to leave a bar.

This is all happening as he answers question after question about Aaron Hernandez's tenure with the Florida Gators, where Meyer has been accused of covering up multiple failed drug tests.
