What They're Saying
Ipswich Town manager Mick McCarthy (via Eastern Daily Press): "I'm a big fan of the playoff system. My record in them is not great, [losing second tier semifinals with Millwall, Sunderland and Wolves]. In fact, I was the first to suffer disappointment when they were introduced, but I still think they're brilliant. Everybody always wants to reinvent the world. It strikes me that it works perfectly well. If you finish third and you feel a bit peeved that you're playing the team that finished sixth and however many points behind you, well you knew that at the start of the season."
Norwich City manager Alex Neil (via Eastern Daily Press): "I don't play too much attention to the hype. I try to keep away from that. I need to keep a clear head and think about how I am going to go about picking my team without any influence from anyone else, so I'm not paying attention to what is happening outside the club."
