Aaron Hernandez Case: Tom Brady Speaks, Says He Has 'Moved On', Ex-Patriots Tight End Facing More Charges?

Former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez is due in court today at 2:00 p.m. for a probable cause hearing with regards to the murder of an "associate," 27-year-old Odin Lloyd.

According to reports, Hernandez is also being eyed in a 2012 double homicide in Boston, in which two people were shot inside a car stopped at a red light. Some in law enforcement believe Lloyd had information about Hernandez's involvement in the double murder, and that the ex-football star murdered him to ensure his silence on the matter.

One official told ESPN, "the case against Hernandez appears to be strengthening." Hernandez is facing a first degree murder rap, as well as multiple weapons charges. Two accomplices, Carlos Ortiz and Ernest Wallace Jr., are also in police custody, and Ortiz is believed to be aiding the police investigation.

A secret "flophouse" belonging to Hernandez was discovered that had ammunition matching that which was used to murder Lloyd, as well as a shirt and baseball cap that Hernandez was seen wearing the night of the slaying. Reports surfaced that Ortiz led the authorities to the hidden apartment.

As for the Patriots, it has been a tumultuous offseason for an organization generally held up as a shining example of how NFL outfits should be run. In addition to the Hernandez mess, cornerback Alfonzo Dennard was arrested for a DUI, and circus ringleader Tim Tebow was brought into the mix. Still, the Hernandez cloud looms darkest.

Franchise quarterback Tom Brady spoke with Sports Illustrated's Peter King about the swift fall from grace of his teammate.

I've seen a lot of things over 13 years, and what I have learned is that mental toughness and putting aside personal agendas for what's in the best interest of the team matters most," Brady said. "My job is to play quarterback, and I'm going to do that the best way I know how, because I owe that to my teammates regardless of who is out there on the field with me. I have moved on.
