Roc Nation Sports recruit DeSean Jackson has released his new “Diamond Around My Neck,” rap video featuring Snoop Dogg and Kid Cali.
No word on if Roc Nation founder and hip hop icon Jay-Z played any role in the explicit collaboration which features such Jackson verses as: “I got them diamonds on my neck and they straight from D-boys/I ride around with the Eagle but it’s 10 though no fever/ The ice cold receiver got them money banks like I’ freezing/Them cold nights and them sunny days but that Jaccpot movement got me buzzin/Cause I’m paid and my money straight, west coast first but I been ablaze/That young boy on that gold dime, money stupid that’s an overflow.”
All that translates to affirm that even in what could be a make-or-break season for him and the Philadelphia Eagles, Jackson isn’t sweating the small stuff. Such as, critics point out, as spending too much time worrying about upcoming training camp. Though Jackson has three years left on his deal, at $10 million per, without a monster year new coach Chip Kelly might be inclined to go in another direction at the end of the season.
News reports have previously indicated Jackson already owns a rap label and part of his interest in Roc Nation stems from his belief an alliance with Jay-Z could be a boom for the business.
