Matt Harvey Skit [VIDEO]; 2013 MLB All Star Game National League Starter Dupes Fans On Late Night With Jimmy Fallon

The 2013 MLB All-Star Game is tonight, and New York Mets starter Matt Harvey will take the mound as the National League's starter in his home stadium, Citi Field. Despite being the best pitcher in New York these days, and posing nude in ESPN's Body Issue, some New Yorkers still aren't totally familiar with him.

Harvey participated in a Late Night With Jimmy Fallon skit in which he posed as a Late Night personality interviewing fans about himself. Many fans didn't recognize him, even when given subtle clues like Harvey donning a Mets cap, or holding a baseball card of himself.

One young fan even told Harvey he had a lot to prove, that he'd only been dominating for a few months, and that Los Angeles Dodgers starter Clayton Kershaw should probably start the game.

Another Mets fan wearing a Harvey jersey excitedly proclaimed the young pitcher his favorite player, pointing both thumbs at the back of his jersey and calling him a "stud." "Thanks," Harvey deadpanned as the realization dawned on the fan who he was speaking to.

While Kershaw has had a slightly better season statistically than Harvey, the nod going to the All-Star in his home stadium seems appropriate. He has earned the start, racking up seven wins and 147 strikeouts on the season while posting a miniscule 2.35 ERA and 0.915 WHIP.

Harvey impressed National League manager Bruce Bochy so much that he said Harvey would've started regardless of where the game was held. "What a tremendous year he's had. Really wouldn't have mattered what city we were playing in with the year that he's had, the impressive numbers that he's put up. He would have been the starting pitcher."

Kershaw seemed miffed by Bochy's comment, tersely saying "That's his opinion," when asked for a comment.
