Jameis Winston Sexual Assault Accusations: New Information In Civil Lawsuit Big Hit To Winston's Side of the Story [TWEETS]

"THE JAMEIS WINSTON RAPE LAWSUIT HAS SOME DAMAGING NEW INFORMATION"

That's the headline that Vice Sports splashed across it's home page during the late afternoon of Friday, April 17. And guess what—it may be a gross understatement.

The young woman who has steadfastly maintained she was sexually assaulted by Winston over two years ago (but who has been unable to prove it to authorities or at an FSU disciplinary hearing) is now seeking to take on the presumptive number one pick in civil court.

In the woman's favor are two apparent new pieces of information not present in previous hearings or investigations. The first is a Facebook status from Winston's then-teammate Ronald Darby the day after the alleged incident, in which Darby seemed to acknowledge with contrition a violent rape occurred and he did not intervene to stop it.

The second new piece of information is that a cab driver took Winston and the alleged victim to an off-campus apartment that evening.

Vice's summary and breakdown of the new information is equal parts exhaustive, expert, and eye-opening. It also is a huge hit to Winston's credibility and character on the eve of the draft, after he spent months trying to rehabilitate his image, to mixed results. We urge you to head over to Vice to read the story in full.
