The Baltimore Orioles (49-40), coming off a dramatic ninth-inning win in the Bronx in their last game, will begin a three-game series with the Texas Rangers (51-37) tonight at 7:05 in a game that can be live streamed here. Orioles fans can hear the game on 1070 WBAL, while Rangers fans can do the same on 103.3 ESPN Radio.
The Orioles will send newly acquired Scott Feldman (7-6, 3.43 ERA) to the mound for his second start as an Oriole against hard-throwing left-hander Derek Holland (6-4, 3.13 ERA).
In Feldman's first start with Baltimore, he tossed six innings of two-run ball and got a no-decision. O's manager Buck Showalter was very impressed with Feldman's effort in band new surroundings.
"That's Scott," Showalter said. "You could see in his eyes that he got a little confident as the game went on. He's got a lot of things -- catcher catching a guy for the first time, he's got a pair of pants he's never had on. It didn't look like they fit too well. Had a brand new pair of shoes that probably hurt his feet a little bit. I thought he handled all the adjustments in his life well, but Scotty's been down this road before."
Meanwhile, Holland is having the best season of his young career. He has racked up 107 strikeouts in 112 innings, and surrendered just seven home runs after serving up a whopping 32 dingers in 2012.
He will face Adam Jones, who rescued the Orioles from a Bronx sweep by homering off Mariano Rivera in the top of the ninth inning. It's off the greatest closer in the history of the game. I'll always remember it," Jones said. "You've got to win, and we haven't been playing that well. We need to tighten up. We need to clean it up around here."
