Today at 3:05 p.m. ET the Boston Red Sox will head to Philadelphia to open up the 2015 season against the Phillies in an interleague matchup that can be live streamed here by clicking this link. Red Sox fans can listen to the radio broadcast on 93.7 WEEI, while Phillies fans may do likewise on 1210 WPHT. Clay Buchholz will start for Boston against left-hander Cole Hamels.

The Red Sox were among the busiest clubs this offseason after a disappointing, last-place finish in 2014, a year after winning the World Series. They beefed up their offense, signing shortstop-turned-left fielder Hanley Ramirez and third baseman Pablo Sandoval. They also kept an eye toward the future and inked an exciting teenager from Cuba, Yoan Moncada, to a contract.

"I think there's a lot of excitement, and rightfully so, about the additions [general manager Ben Cherington] has made to our team," Red Sox manager John Farrell said. "This is a talented group."

The Sox will get a good look at Phillies left-hander Cole Hamels, who was rumored to be headed to Beantown for much of the offseason. The Red Sox showed great interest in Hamels, since their starting rotation is the glaring flaw of this roster, but Phillies general manager Ruben Amaro's high asking price killed a deal.

Hamels was 9-9 last season despite a sparkling 2.46 ERA and 1.14 WHIP. The Phillies often gave Hamels meager run support, something he would not figure to struggle with in Boston's loaded lineup. He struck out 198 batters last season, falling two short of three consecutive 200-strikeout campaigns.
