Jay-Z Disses Scott Boras On New Album, Magna Carta Holy Grail: "Crown" [VIDEO]; Robinson Cano's Ex-Agent Responds

Jay-Z dropped his twelfth studio album, Magna Carta Holy Grail Thursday on Independence day. On one of the tracks, "Crown," Jay-Z fires off a salvo at sports agent Scott Boras.

Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter raps, "Scott Boras, you over baby. Robinson Cano you comin' with me. These n----s is like rotary phones, it's a new day, hit up KD [Kevin Durant.]"

Jay-Z, who recently formed Roc Nation Sports, inked Cano away from Boras as the new agency's first client. Jay-Z is also in the process of becoming a fully fledged NBA agent, once all his shares in the Brooklyn Nets organization have been divested.

Jay-Z has several high profile players in his stable, including Durant, Victor Cruz of the New York Giants, Geno Smith of the New York Jets, and Skylar Diggins of the WNBA. However Cano, the best player on the New York Yankees, who is set for a mega payday at the end of the 2013 season, stings the most for Boras.

The dissed super agent fired back with a tongue-in-cheek response saying, "I'm a fan of jazz, and my favorite musician is Bernie Williams What other musician could play center field for the Yankees and win four world championships?"

He went on to say, "What I've learned through my time in the business is that you can't worry about external factors. You just have to focus on being the best you can be. I've been asked to negotiate all kinds of things. And I don't do that because I am singularly committed to the game of baseball. My company doesn't do anything else."

If Boras sounds confident, it's probably because his extensive client list still has players like Adrian Beltre, Carlos Gonzalez, Prince Fielder, Alex Rodriguez and Stephen Strasburg on it. Jay-Z may have stolen Cano, but he has a long way to go before he duplicates his rap success in the sports representation world.
