Two nations looking to return to form will do battle today in an international friendly between Costa Rica and Paraguay. The match scheduled for 10 p.m. ET will be held at the Estadio Nacional in San Jose. It can live streamed here free and via Teletica (link here).
What They're Saying
Paulo Wanchope (via Teletica): "We're in everybody's mouths these days because of what we accomplished [at the World Cup]. We have to take the responsibility and possibility of continuing to ascend and bring joy to the people of Costa Rica."
Keylor Navas (via Teletica): "We're working the same way [we did under Jorge Luis Pinto]. We have a clear objective and we know what we're capable of."
Joel Campbell: "We had a style of play before, during and now post-World Cup and I don't think that's going to change."
Tactical Preview
Player to Watch: With no Giancarlo Gonzalez, finding Oscar Duarte's partner in central defense is Wanchope's top priority. Enter Keyner Brown. Unless you're watching Costa Rica's Primera Division on a weekly basis, you'll know little of the 23-year-old. Brown was a surprise inclusion, but is reportedly impressing in practice. At 6'1", he doesn't boast the height of Gonzalez (6'3"), but he is the most ready to dress for La Sele against Paraguay.
Costa Rica (4-2-3-1): Navas; Diaz, Duarte, Brown, Myrie; Borges, Tejeda; Venegas, Ruiz, Campbell; Saborio
Paraguay (3-4-1-2): Villar; Silva, Gomez, Aguilar; Piris, Ortiz, Cáceres, Moreira; Romero; Benitez, Santa Cruz
