Tonight at 7 p.m. ET, the Los Angeles Kings (35-23-14, 84 points) and New York Rangers (46-18-7, 99 points) face-off for the second and final time this season live from Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Los Angeles has lost two of its last three games and enters the second contest of a five-match road trip while New York has won two games in a row and closes out a two-match home stand.
The Rangers enter play on top of the NHL, the Eastern Conference and the Metropolitan Division while the Kings are four points behind the Winnipeg Jets (88) for the second and final wild-card spot in the Western Conference.
The first time these two teams met, New York defeated Los Angeles 4-3 on Jan. 8. L.A. topped the Blueshirts in five games in the 2014 Stanley Cup Final last June.

The Kings are coming in off of a 3-1 loss to the New Jersey Devils on Monday and are in desperate need of these two points.
Anze Kopitar has paced Los Angeles this season with 57 points off of 15 goals and 42 assists while Jeff Carter has a team-best 25 tallies and has added 28 helpers to rank second on the Kings with 53 points.
The Rangers enter play on the heels of a 7-2 drubbing of the Anaheim Ducks on Sunday and will look for their third straight triumph.
Rick Nash is third in the NHL with 39 goals and leads New York with 63 points while Derick Brassard has found the back of the net 15 times and added a team-best 29 assists to rank second on the Rangers with 54 points.
In between the pipes, New York is set to turn to Cam Talbot and he is 19-7-4 this season with a 2.13 goals-against average and .919 save percentage. Henrik Lundqvist (throat) has missed nearly two months, but is expected to return this weekend.
Los Angeles counters with Jonathan Quick in the crease and he is 31-19-12 with a 2.27 GAA and a .916 save percentage.
