The New England Patriots are offering fans free exchanges on Aaron Hernandez jerseys.

In a Twitter post, team officials encouraged parents “to exchange #81 jerseys purchased from the Patriots ProShop and ParentProShop.com for any other Patriots player’s jersey in store on July 6-7.

Hernandez is charged with first-degree murder and is being investigated in connection with an unrelated double homicide that took roughly a year before. In addition, another man has sued the former star tight end claiming he shot him in an attack that caused him to lose the use of his right eye and undergo several reconstructive face charges.

On Friday, an attorney for Alexander Bradley told USA Today Hernandez also intended kill his client in that attack. "I think he was left there because they thought he would be dead," said David Jaroslawicz. "You can't make this stuff up. When I filed this simple lawsuit for Mr. Bradley's injuries, the last thing I expected was they would find a dead body near his house and he'd be under investigation to two other dead bodies. That's not what I expected when we filed our simple lawsuit."

A judge has denied bail for Hernandez, 23, and he is expected to remain jailed up until trial, which is estimated to be at least a year away.
