Mitt Romney vs.Evander Holyfield? Former Presidential Candidate Getting In The Boxing Ring For Charity

Pacquiao vs. Mayweather may be the biggest fight of 2015 to most boxing fans, but don't count this author amongst them. Nope, I'd rather see Mitt Romney, the 2012 Republican nominee for the White House, is going to be boxing former heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield.

Yes, you read that correctly.

Now, granted, the fight is for charity and neither participant is going to be punching particularly hard. And we're sure there will be plenty of headgear and other protective garb involved. Nevertheless, this is still one of the more random and absurd happenings in the sports world this year.

The fight is scheduled to take place in Salt Lake City on May 15. Proceeds from the bout will go to CharityVision, an organization that fights for the blind and visually impaired.

If there's a tale of the tape to be made, here's the rundown: Romney comes in at 6'2 and 68 years old, Holyfield 6'1 and 52.

“It will either be a very short fight, or I will be knocked unconscious,” Romney said, via The Salt Lake City Tribune. “It won’t be much of a fight. We’ll both suit up and get in the ring and spar around a little bit.”

(Obligatory mention of Romney potentially biting Holyfield's ear, too)
