What They're Saying
America manager Gustavo Matosas (via Esto): "It's a comment that causes me grief, comparing a car to a football team. It's a joke to us and I work to tell the players that they shouldn't believe that lie. It's not real. It's like a joke to an institution. No one has believed it at anytime."
Santos Laguna midfielder Jesus Molina (via Esto): "Honestly, playing against America is always a game worth getting up for. They're an important team in Mexican football and they personally gave me great things, two championships in the three-and-a-half years I was there. Honestly, I have a special place for the team and the fans. But this is Santos, where I've been received well and we'll look for a victory for the team."
Tactical Preview
Player to Watch: America's Rubens Sambueza is yet to live up to his 2014 Apertura form, but still remains an integral part of America's attack. Last season, the 31-year-old created a club-best 50 chances and scored one goal.
America's Projected Lineup (5-3-2): Munoz; Samudio, Alvarado, Goltz, Pimentel, Aguilar; Sosa, Martinez, Sambueza; Zuniga, Peralta
Santos Laguna's Projected Lineup (4-4-2): Marchesin; Alanis, Aldrete, Izquierdoz, Fanjul; Molina, Gonzalez, Calderon, Escoboza; Djaniny, Orozco
