Aaron Rodgers Magic Johnson Twitter: Packer's Player Rips Johnson For Over-The-Top-Coverage

Green Bay Packers star quarterback Aaron Rodgers doesn’t seem a big fan of NBA Hall of Famer’s Magic Johnson pre or post game analysis.

Rodgers took to Twitter on Friday to comment “Magic is quickly becoming the John Gruden of ESPN NBA Countdown coverage. Everybody is the greatest everything.”

Indeed, Gruden has long been criticized by fans of ESPN’s NFL Live Show for his over-hype of the players he is charged with truly evaluating. And now, more and more, critics like Rodgers are starting to view Johnson in the same light.

After the Miami Heat secured their second straight NBA title by knocking off the San Antonio Spurs Thursday night, Johnson seemed unabashed in his praise for the defending champ’s unmitigating brilliance.

He incessantly compared series MVP LeBron James to six-time NBA Michael Jordan and repeatedly branded Dwyane Wade the most selfless superstar in the history of game. It’s all been enough to leave longtime hoops fans of the mindset while Magic, the player, may have had the perfect combination of speed, size and savvy, his analytical skills seem greatly lacking.

Perhaps that’s why rumors of an imminent shakeup for The Countdown Show yet abound. Reports recently surfaced that executives are considering changes this off-season that could spell the departure of fellow host Bill Simmons and the arrival of network colleague Stephen A. Smith.

As for the fate of Magic, well, that riddle yet remains a mystery.
