Heisman Trophy winner and Texas A&M star quarterback Johhny Manziel’s recent Twitter post rant stemmed from a parking ticket, MySanAntonio.com is reporting.
Manziel tweeted late Sunday “it’s (expletive) like tonight is a reason why I can’t wait to leave College Station, whenever it may be.”
Now the website is reporting the sophomore star was outraged over a parking ticket he was issued while fishing in nearby Port Aransas for parking the wrong way in front of his house and for his windows being tinted too dark. At the time, the vehicle was parked in College Station while he was with friends in Port Aransas.
Though he quickly removed the post, replacing it with one attesting to how much he loved A&M, Manziel’s words were heard around the world. In turn that revelation has led to even more, namely that Manziel almost left A&M before even embarking on his decorated season.
The Dallas Morning News is reporting he nearly transferred to another school after he was suspended by the university following his arrest on charges of failing to identify himself and possessing two fakes IDs.
The News reports Manziel was planning to transfer to a junior college, where he would be eligible to play right away, just before his suspension was overturned on appeal midway through training camp. The next day, he was named starting quarterback.
Multiple insiders have insisted the athletic department had nothing to do with Manziel’s suspension being overturned, stressing that it was done so by the dean of student life.
