LeBron James Calls NBA Finals Game 6 "Best I've Ever Been Part Of'"
LeBron James is calling the Miami Heat’s 103-100 comeback, overtime win over San Antonio in Game 6 of the NBA Finals Tuesday night “by far the best game I’ve ever been a part of.”
The Heat’s late heroics set up a Game 7 showdown for the crown on Thursday and left The King as exhilarated as he had to be exhausted.
"The ups and downs, the roller coaster, the emotions, good and bad throughout the whole game,” James told USA Today Sports. “To be a part of something like this is something you would never be able to recreate once you're done playing. And I'm blessed to be a part of something like this. And I’m happy about the way we dug down and were able to get a win. It didn’t look like we could muster up at some point.”
But that’s when the league’s reigning MVP took over, scoring 16 of his game-high 32 points in the fourth quarter. James added 11 assists and 10 rebounds to notch his second triple-double of the series and fourth in his Finals career.
"Everything we do starts with him," teammate Ray Allen, whose three point basket sent the game into overtime, told USA Today. "If he has great energy, if he has bad energy, we feel it, the rest of the team. So one thing I always try to make sure I do with him is to make sure he understands how his aura, his energy has an effect on the rest of the team. And we always need it to be great energy.”
James ‘basket with 1:43 remaining gave the Heat the lead for good and set the stage for Thursday night’s winner-take-all battle.
“He has a great motor and we all follow suit,” said Allen.
