Indiana Star Victor Oladipo Refuses To Work Out For Hometown Wizards

Lottery-bound guard Victor Oladipo has refused to work out for his hometown Washington Wizards and continues to drop not-so-subtle hints that he doesn’t want the team to take him with their top pick.

The Wizards have the third pick in this month’s draft and team officials have been attempting to set up a workout for the former Indiana star who has spurned all their overtures.

According to The Washington Post, Oladipo has declined every offer made by the team to work out on their home court at the Verizon Center, but has tepidly given top officials the option of watching him perform at nearby DeMatha High, where he has been working out daily in preparation.

When directly asked by the media about the possibility of playing for the Wiz during last month’s NBA Combine in Chicago, Oladipo said “it would be interesting because they already have John Wall and Bradley Beal.”

The 6-5, 214 pound Oladipo, who some consider the most NBA-ready in the draft, grew up in nearby Upper Marlboro. The Wizards have been widely linked to fellow local star Otto Porter. The Georgetown forward is rumored to now be at the top of the team’s prospects and is slated to work for team officials sometime over the next few days.
