Tony Parker Injury Update: San Antonio Spurs Star Guard To Have MRI, May Miss Game 4

San Antonio Spurs star guard Tony Parker is slated to undergo an MRI on his right hamstring on Wednesday after tweaking it in the team’s NBA Finals Game 3 blowout win over Miami.

According to Yahoo! Sports, Parker’s availability for Thursday’s Game 4 is now in question. The Spurs lead the best-of-seven series 2-1.

Yahoo! reports Parker suffered the injury early in the second half and tried to play on. He left the game for good early in the final quarter, finishing with just six points and eight assists in 27 minutes.

''Hopefully it's nothing big and it's just cramping or got tight on me,'' Parker told Yahoo! ''I don't know. It was just a weird feeling. I just wanted to make sure the doctor said I was OK and then I played two minutes in the fourth quarter and we were up big so Coach (Greg Popovich) didn't want to take a risk. We will see tomorrow.''

Amazingly, on this night, the Spurs weren’t hurt by Parker’s absence. Unheralded role players Danny Green and Gary Neal combined for 13 of the team’s 16 3-pointers, with Green finishing with a career-high 27 points.

But to put away LeBron James and the defending champs for good, the Spurs figure to need a healthy Parker.

''Hopefully it just got tight and hopefully I will be fine,'' Parker told Yahoo!
