Nitro Circus Live Tour: Disgruntled Fans Demand Refunds After Rain Cancels Event [VIDEO]

After rain ruined a stop on the Nitro Circus Live Tour for motocross, BMX and skateboarding fans in Albany on Sunday, many of them are demanding a refund.

According to Stuff.co, the show at QBE Stadium in Albany had to be canceled after 45 minutes due to rain and many fans of the daredevil sport were left disgruntled and looking for their money back.

Pre the report, tickets to the motocross, BMX and skating event ranged from $99-150, but promoter Mike Porra said no refunds would be given for a show that was supposed to last about two hours.

"While last night's show was shortened due to the wet riding hazard caused by rain, all non-essential riding was skipped and the vast majority of the show, including all the big segments, were performed. No refunds will be issued," Porra told the publication.

While Porra said he had support from most of the fans, others took to the events' Facebook page to express their frustration.

"Rain or shine all shows going ahead 100% as planned?" wrote Kelly Marsh, citing the event's website details. "Really? Not what I saw tonight. That's a bit of false hope for all your plans. How about a refund. Or a wet weather alternate day?"

The event booked the venue for the following day in the event of a rainout, but the weather continued to be bad on Monday and most of the stars went home.

A Facebook page has been created in an attempt to request refunds from the organizers of the event.

A Commerce Commission spokeswoman confirmed there have been complaints about the event being rained out and the lack of refunds.

"We will be assessing that complaint in due course," she told the site. "This is a contractual issue and individuals would need to take their own action if they feel that Nitro Circus is in breach of their terms and conditions."

She continued: "Where the Commission would potentially get involved is if Nitro Circus had misled consumers about their right to a refund under either the terms and conditions of the contract or the Consumer Guarantees Act."

Nitro Circus advised its ticketholders of the possibility of a rainout in the terms and conditions.

What was supposed to be a fun day out in Albany led to a lot of frustration following the rain.
