Report: Tim Tebow Signs With Patriots, Unemployed No Longer

The reports of Bill Belichick "not hating" Tim Tebow are clearly true, as the world's most famous backup quarterback has been inked to a deal with the New England Patriots, according to reports.

Tebow is expected at tomorrow's mandatory minicamp tomorrow, ending the constant speculation about Tebow's future in the NFL. With Tom Brady under center, Tebow clearly won't see much time under center, but offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels is a noted believer in Tebow's unique skillset.

McDaniels was the head coach of the Denver Broncos when they drafted Tebow with the 25th overall pick in the 2010 draft. McDaniels lasted less than two full seasons in Denver before being fired. He reunited recently with his mentor, Belichick, and clearly has transferred his affinity for the ground-based quarterback.

As a Bronco and a New York Jet, Tebow only completed 47.9 percent of his passes. The Patriots offense is pass-heavy, so how the burly signal caller could be used in such a system is unclear. The Jets used him as a punt protector, and there has been speculation about his ability to play fullback or tight end.

The Patriots coaching staff is known as one of the most innovative in the league, so there's no doubt Tebow will be put to use if he makes the roster after training camp.
