The games could finally be coming to an end for Jason Kidd.

The New York Knicks future Hall of Fame guard is torn between retirement and coming back in hopes of leading the franchise to an ever elusive NBA title.

Speaking at New York Giants defensive end Justin Tuck’s charity billiards event in Manhattan this week, Kidd intimated that his heart might be into a return engagement, but his body might have plans of its own.

According to The New York Post, Kidd indicated “right now his plan is to return, but he is “thinking” and has not made a final decision. “We’ll see what happens, he added. “I’ve got to be honest with myself. I’m a young man, but I’ve got to see mentally if I could do the grind all over again.”

If he walks away, Kidd said television work and coaching could be post-career options. The 40-year –old veteran, who has always been pegged as coaching material, added that money is not an issue.

“There’s a lot different stuff I may have the opportunity to do,’’ he told The Post. “If I play, I plan on playing for the Knicks.

As for the scoring slump that marred the end of his season, Kidd explained: “It happens. I’m 40-years old. Sometimes the ball doesn’t go in for you. You keep trying to help in other aspects of the game. We just missed shots at the wrong time.’’
