Attorneys for Los Angeles Lakers star guard Steve Nash now claim his ex-wife only got pregnant as part of an elaborate scheme to get money from him
According to TMZ.com, lawyers for Nash mercilessly grilled Alejandra Amarilla after she took the stand during bitter custody proceedings in an Arizona courtroom. At one point, TMZ reports Nash's lawyers peppered her with such questions as “You saw the trade from the Phoenix Suns to the Lakers as a way to obtain a higher child support amount regardless of what was best for your kids, didn’t you?”
Nash attorneys, according to TMZ, then went on to produce an email that Alejandra allegedly sent to a third party in which she reportedly openly discusses her plot to trap Nash into paying out more money.
Reportedly, the email reads: "My position is we are moving to California because [our children's] father is there. I believe the school is a great fit for them. I can't buy a home unless we get child support. Plan is to move to CA. Wait 6 months then get court involved in child support."
Amarilla has long claimed she only wants to relocate to Los Angeles so that her kids can spend more time with their father who, besides playing for the Lakers, now also lives in Manhattan Beach.
According to TMZ, even though Nash out paid roughly $5 million in the divorce settlement, he currently doesn’t pay any child support. His attorneys, however, have stressed he covers all financial responsibilities related to his two children.
