Two clubs chasing the Apertura Liga MX title will do battle today in a league match between Santos Laguna and Veracruz. Santos Laguna manager Pedro Caixinha (via Goal): "It has made a difference not having qualified [last season]. It was the results locally that we regret. We look at these situations well and the teams that win over 80 percent of their home games are normally champions. It's something that we have to focus on with the unit we need."
Veracruz manager Carlos Reinoso (via Star Media): "Every day we worked more, growing tactically, physically. I think we have a very round group, competitive, with players that I asked for. We have to be offensive, aggressive from the first game."

Player to Watch: Santos Laguna's Javier Orozco made 16 appearances in the 2014 Apertura. The 27-year-old finished with six goals and two assists. He'll look to kick start a successful 2015 campaign on Friday.
