Aaron Hernandez Murder Case Update: Fiancee Shayanna Jenkins May Testify Against Ex-Patriots Star?

The defense of former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez may take a gigantic blow, as reports have surfaced that Hernandez's fiancée Shayanna Jenkins may be granted immunity in exchange for testifying against him.

Jenkins, who is facing perjury charges for allegedly lying to a grand jury 29 times, is believed to have disposed of Hernandez's murder weapon in the shooting death of Odin Lloyd, who was dating Jenkins' sister.

Court documents allege that Hernandez sent Jenkins a text message instructing her about the location of the murder weapon and asking her to get rid of it.

The message read "Go in back of the screen in movie room when u get home an there is the box avielle likes to play with in the tub jus in case u were looking for it!!!! Member how u ruined that big tv lmao WAS JUST THINKIN bout that lol wink wink love u TTYL ..... K".

At the time of her being charged with perjury this is what prosecutors had to say.

"She was asked what she did to the item that Mr. Hernandez instructed her to get rid of; she repeatedly told the grand jury that she couldn't remember, she didn't know, she'd thrown it in a dumpster, and she couldn't tell anybody where it was."

There is footage from Hernandez's home surveillance system showing Jenkins carrying a trash bag that appears to contain a "rigid box" that she placed in the trunk of her Nissan Sentra before driving away. When she returned the bag was gone.

A cousin of Hernandez, Jennifer Mercado, has already been granted immunity after a meeting on Wednesday but Mercado and her lawyer declined to comment.
