Thursday Night Football Prediction: Jaguars or Titans Will Win, But America Loses [VIDEO]

If two different 2-12 NFL teams play each other on a Thursday night and no one watches, did it ever truly happen?

That's what the NFL is going to find out tonight, as the two basement-dwellers of the AFC South, the Jaguars and Titans, face off in Jacksonville tonight.

This is the last Thursday night game of the year for the NFL. The league has been roundly criticized from all corners for the quality of this year's TNF slate, which have consistently featured banged-up teams in sloppy games of either the low-scoring or lopsided variety.

If rookie quarterbacks Blake Bortles and Zach Mettenberger were healthy, this game could at least be advertised as a battle of two up-and-coming potential stars. Rather, NFL Network viewers whose remotes are broken will watch a battle between perennial journeymen Charlie Whitehurst and Chad Henne instead.

If there's a player to watch tonight it'll be Jaguars wide receiver Marqise Lee. The rookie out of USC battled injuries early in the season but has put up some solid production in recent weeks. His eight-reception, 75-yard, one-touchdown performance in Week 14 was a key factor in the Jags' unlikely comeback victory over the Giants.

Both teams won't admit it publicly, but each would probably prefer to lose this game and secure a high draft pick. This is especially true of the Titans, who have eyes on selecting Marcus Mariota or Jameis Winston in April. That determination on Tennessee's part, coupled with Jacksonville's misciule home field advantage, makes the Jaguars our predicted winner.

Final Score: Jacksonville 13, Tennessee 9
