Rihanna: Star Singer Insists She's Not Reason For J.R. Smith's Shooting Woes
Star singer Rihanna is angrily denying rumors she and J.R. Smith have become an item and the resulting distractions might be behind his playoff struggles.
The two were caught clubbing several days ago, and ever since tabloid and gossip sites alike have speculated about the nature of their relationship. In a recent Instagram rant, Rihanna sought to clear up all and misconceptions.
F**k you and your wack a** team,” she wrote. “Nobody don’t want that desert thirsty ni***. He fuc*** up cus his ass be hung over from clubbing every night in the playoffs.”
Whatever the case may be, there’s no denying Smith, the league’s reigning sixth-man of the year winner, has struggled mightily this post season. The Knicks now find themselves on the brink of elimination in their best of seven series against Indiana amid a series long shooting slump from their one-time sharpshooter.
Over his last six games, he’s shot just 26-for-91 and 10-for-37 on three pointers. Since being suspended for the team’s Game 4 opening series tilt against Boston for elbowing Jason Terry, he’s shot less than 50 percent in all six games.
So humbled by it all has Smith become, he recently told ESPN “I take blame for the whole series. I haven’t been doing my part.”
This Rihanna beef doesn’t figure to make things any easier.
