St. Louis has won two straight games entering tonight's match while Chicago returns home after going 5-1 on a six-game road trip and has won three consecutive tilts. The Blues defeated the Blackhawks in the only other meeting between these two teams this season on Oct. 25.

The Blues made waves Tuesday by signing veteran goaltender Martin Brodeur, though Jake Allen is expected to man the crease tonight.

"It feels great," Brodeur told the team website. "I really appreciate the opportunity for me to be here the last few days. It definitely worked out real well. I'm excited for this fresh start."

St. Louis has been paced offensively by Vladimir Tarasenko this season and he is first on the team with 26 points off of 12 goals and 14 assists. Jaden Schwartz (eight markers, 13 helpers) and Jori Lehtera (seven goals, 14 assists) are tied for second on the Blues with 21 points.

The Blackhawks are coming off of a 4-1 victory over the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday that closed out a successful road trip while the circus was in town.

Chicago will be without backstop Corey Crawford for 2-3 weeks after he injured his foot falling at a concert.

"I was at a concert the other day and was on the way out and missed a step and I didn't think it was that bad," Crawford told the Chicago Tribune. "I woke up the next day and it was worse than I thought."

Offensively, Patrick Kane has led the Blackhawks with 23 points off of 10 goals and 13 assists while captain Jonathan Toews has 10 markers and nine helpers for 19 points and Kris Versteeg has found the back of the net seven times and added 11 assists for 18 points.

Two Central Division rivals collide when the Blues and Blackhawks go head-to-head tonight at the United Center in Chicago.
