Philadelphia Eagles fans apparently have nothing to worry about when it comes to the rumors that frequently arise about Chip Kelly leaving to take another coaching job. The coach apparently does not have a desire to return to coaching college football, even for a job at a major school.
Ravens Told Rice What To Say At Press Conference
According to media reports, there has been some speculation about whether the University of Florida might try to lure the popular Eagles coach back to the college ranks. Kelly apparently has no interest in such a move.
Kelly says that he has not been contacted about the job vacancy, and it will not make a difference even if they do reach out to him. "If they did, I wouldn't listen," said Kelly. "It's false. I think false things are silly."
Kelly burst onto the scene years ago at Oregon with his lightning quick offense that was known both for their unbelievable pace and their ability to pile up points on opponents. Kelly also is known for his insistence on using sports science to manage his players' nutrition and workout habits. He has brought the approach to the NFL, where he has enjoyed success so far.
The Eagles are currently 9-3 and have sole possession of first in the NFC East after blowing out the Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving. The Eagles look like a sure bet to make the playoffs, and they have a solid opportunity to earn a first round bye in the playoffs.
